google_plus_real_estateWhether you have bought or sold one house or twenty, the process has been drastically changing over the last 10 years. Buyers are becoming more educated and sellers are becoming more informed of tools to market their homes. As technology changes, both buyers and sellers have to adopt. Along with them, real estate professionals have to stay ahead of the curve to bring them the most efficient way to either buy or sell their home.

One tool buyers, sellers, and real estate professionals have been using that has exploded in the last few years is social networking sites. The amount of time spent and interaction on social networking sites has been growing exponentially every month.

On June 28, 2011, many people know Google opened memberships for their own social networking site called Google+. Even though there are hundreds of social networking sites in use, Google has created a site that takes the best features of all and combines them into one powerful social networking site.

What does Google+ mean for the real estate industry?

Here are some predictions of what Google+ will do for the real estate industry and how it will change how you buy or sell your next house.

Instant Upload
Imagine Realtors taking pictures for buyers or sellers and then having them instantly on the Internet. Instant Upload allows anyone who takes a photo or video with their mobile phone to have it instantly upload to their Google+ account. Instant uploads can then be held privately or shared with anyone within their network.

Circles
Imagine buyers grouping everyone involved in their home purchasing process or Realtors or mortgage lenders grouping clients. Circles allow anyone to group their contacts in specific groups that allow for different privacy levels.

Hangout
Interview your Realtor or mortgage lender before taking the time to meet with them. This feature allows anyone to group video chat at any time with multiple people. This may be on the top of the list for real estate professionals to connect with other professionals or clients.

Sparks
Buyers and sellers can now have the most relevant content to what they are interested in at any time. Sparks allow a person to create topics of interest and use as a source of information which can be used and shared with anyone.

Google has been a giant on the web for over 10 years. Having the largest user base on the web of over a billion users, the largest market share with their search engine, and now a mobile phone operating system that has become a top seller, Google+ stands to be around for a long time. Since adding over 25 million users within the first month on an invite only status, Google+ is going to change how you buy or sell your next house.
